Iota-Beta Chapter Turns S.U. Red
On Friday, February 6, Susquehanna University "glowed red" thanks to the brothers of TKE Iota-Beta Chapter. Supported by the American Heart Association Go Red For Women movement and other organizations, February 6 marked the Sixth Annual National Wear Red Day for Women – a massive national public awareness day urging people from all walks of life, schools, businesses, towns, buildings and landmarks to "go red" or "glow red" to bring attention to the No. 1 killer of American females – heart disease.
The Iota-Beta Chapter brothers adopted "Wear Red Day" as a philanthropic project intent on encouraging all brothers, Greeks and the campus community to "go red" on February 6 to raise awareness. More than 450,000 women die each year from heart disease and stroke and we all have women in our lives that matter, from mothers and sisters, to best friends, aunts, girlfriends and teachers.
The Iota-Beta Chapter brothers enjoyed great success with the project. The entire fraternity went red on February 6, but they also successfully secured much of the S.U. Greek community to “go red” as shown by the accompanying photo. The S.U. TKE brothers also secured two S.U. structures to illuminate red the evening of February 6 – the S.U. physical plant smokestacks and the campus nightclub Trax, seen in the photo above. More than $285.00 was raised to support the American Heart Association. Great job Iota-Beta Chapter brothers! Learn more by visiting www.GoRedForWomen.org.
